👟🌟Runner Spotlight 🌟👟
As a recreational runner and lifelong anglophile, Hans Cuppen has had the Inverness Half Marathon on his bucket list for decades.
Heart surgery meant a full marathon was no longer possible, but he still completed FIVE half marathons - his last in New Jersey, USA.
Inverness, however, kept calling.
Now 73, this March, he and his son Joost will fly from Amsterdam to Inverness and make his dream of running in the Highland capital come true, by running the 5K together along the River Ness.
They’ll be fundraising for @alzscot, and hoping for a handshake with Nessie! 🦕
We say that medal will be very well deserved.
Please join us in giving Hans and his son a warm Highland welcome and good luck to them both!
Every bib tells a story. What’s yours? 📖✨
On 8 March, over 5000 participants will line up for the Inverness Half Marathon and 5K.
Some are aiming for a personal best, some are honoring a loved one, and others are proving to themselves that they can achieve something they never thought possible.
Whether you`re running for charity, for fitness, or just for the pure joy of it, we want to hear from you!
Tell us in the comments: What is your "Why" for 2026? 👇

Ruaridh Gordon is taking on the Inverness 5K with some extra baggage - carrying his full Scout camp kit in his rucksack as he runs! 🎒🏃♂️
14 year old Ruaridh is one of two Scouts chosen to represent Inverness at the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland, 2027.
Every step he takes helps fund his trip and part of his fundraising will help Scouts from developing nations attend the Jamboree too. 🌍✨
A huge challenge, a great cause, and one determined young Scout showing true Highland spirit. Good luck, Ruaridh - we’ll be cheering every step of the way! 💪🎉
