👟✨Runner story ✨👟
Ryan McAdam is running the Inverness Half Marathon with a deeply personal mission.
On 8 July 2024, his mum was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, turning both their lives upside down.
After two challenging rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, she’s now in remission, but the journey has left a lasting impact.
Ryan is running in memory of his grandad, who passed from throat cancer in 2003, and as a thank you to the incredible medical staff who cared for his mum with compassion and empathy.
He’s fundraising for @cancerresearchuk, hoping to give back a little to an organisation that supported his and many other families facing life-changing diagnoses.
Good luck, Ryan - your run is inspiring and meaningful every step of the way!

👟🌟Runner Spotlight 🌟👟
As a recreational runner and lifelong anglophile, Hans Cuppen has had the Inverness Half Marathon on his bucket list for decades.
Heart surgery meant a full marathon was no longer possible, but he still completed FIVE half marathons - his last in New Jersey, USA.
Inverness, however, kept calling.
Now 73, this March, he and his son Joost will fly from Amsterdam to Inverness and make his dream of running in the Highland capital come true, by running the 5K together along the River Ness.
They’ll be fundraising for @alzscot, and hoping for a handshake with Nessie! 🦕
We say that medal will be very well deserved.
Please join us in giving Hans and his son a warm Highland welcome and good luck to them both!
